Meetings held at Columbian Hall

June 24 was a busy day for our Knights of Columbus. Our fellow Kights received a lot of help from the Scouts and American Heritage Girls and their Knights and Ladies leaders at our Adopt-a-Highway Project. Our Chaplain Father Greg Adolf and District Master Bryant Sayers worked hard in the hot sun cleaning up our Parish neighborhood. Two Brother Knights participated in the handrailings re-paint project at the Our Lady of the Sierras Shrine. Click the read more button to view a few photos. Read more...

Just for fun I broke down our Council membership by age groups:

75+      =  60

65 to 74 =  36

55 to 64 =  57

45 to 54 =  44

35 to 44 =  29

25 to 34 =  12

18 to 24 =   4

Total    = 242

Frank-Liebsch 64x81Brother Knights -
We still need a chairman for the
Free Throw Championship Click on the link to learn about this project. This program falls under the Youth Activities Service Area. If interested, please contact the Youth Service Director, Brother John Denson or the Program Director, Brother Frank Liebsch.

Frank-Liebsch 64x81Click this link to a YouTube interview with Archbishop Chaput on EWTN's Bookmark program. I have the book (Strangers In A Strange Land: Living The Catholic Faith In A Post-Christian World) and have finished reading it. If any brother wants to read it, please contact me. Archbishop Chaput is a gifted writer and is the Archbishop of Philadelphia. He is only the second Native American Bishop, and the first Native American Archbishop. The book is good and thought-provoking; it is a great source of input from other sources as well as himself.

hall20160825There have been a lot of improvements made to the Columbian Hall and grounds over the last two years. We owe many thanks to those who volunteer to keep our twice-weekly Bingo session going. It is Bingo revenue that allows us to operate, maintain and improve the hall.

A less than exhaustive list of Council/Association activities follows. How many of the statements in the list apply to you? How many do you feel should be true of an ACTIVE member? Is your batting average so-so (250 to 300) or are you a slugger with an average of 350 or more?

Frank-Liebsch 64x81Congratulations to Sir Knight/Brother and SGM(Ret) Frank Liebsch (Council 4584/Assembly 2058) for being selected as the Arizona Knight of the year.

bingo card 200Brother Knights we need volunteers to help put on Bingo sessions at the Hall on Sunday and Wednesday evenings. Bingo revenue supports the Columbian Hall. In addtition to recurring operation costs we still have a lot of backlog maintenance to complete.
